April

We started off the month with General Conference. We worked on a puzzle and listened for key words for snacks. Brandon was on call and watched when he had free moments. It was a wonderful conference! We were excited to hear that a temple will be built in Florianopolis Brazil where Brandon served his mission! We'll definitely have to go visit when it's built.

On April 8 we watched the solar eclipse! The kids got released early from school; the totality happened during their normal dismissal time, so to prevent any safety or travel issues they all got to be home to watch. It had been a little cloudy that day but it cleared up enough. We only had about 96% totality, but it was still really neat to see! It definitely felt a little cooler while the sun was covered and everything looked kind of dim. Definitely a memorable day!

The Middle school music programs got to go on a NYC trip! They traveled there, ate lunch, saw Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, and came home. Brielle had a great time!

Since Brandon worked a long call week, he had a day off the next week. So we went to the temple while the kids were in school!

Afterwards we ate at Sabrina's. It was super yummy! I had the chicken and waffle and Brandon got the cannoli stuffed French toast.

Lily participated in county chorus. There was an elementary, middle, and high school choir. Lily's group  had just a couple days to practice as a group with their guest conductor. They ended up singing all their songs by memory and they sounded so good! In the photo below she is in the black top/tan skirt right at the back of the piano.

The concert was held in downtown Harrisburg at the auditorium on the grounds of the Capitol building. Afterwards we got an early dinner at an Italian restaurant and then walked to an ice cream shop for dessert!

There were some cool murals to see while we walked around downtown!

Very proud of these dancers!

Brandon and the girls went on the ward youth temple trip and had a wonderful time!

We found these mini water ring toss games at the Hersheypark store. We spent several minutes trying to catch all the rings and we did it!

We got to do a musical number at church. Proud of the girls for pulling this together!
