Teen Beach Dance Recital

The girls had a fun time going to Miss Julie's dance studio and preparing for their recital. Lily's class was tap/ballet and Brielle's was jazz. Both of them have really improved in remembering routines and technique over previous years. Their numbers were from Teen Beach Movie (typical Disney musical fare). They had a lot of fun and we're very proud of them!

Lily's dance was to "Like Me" which contrasts some modern vs. vintage ideas about dating. Our favorite is when the modern girl suggests that the girl "pick up the check" and the girl from the '60s says "No! Make him a pie!"  Lily is very deliberate in her moves and takes it seriously so she doesn't smile much. She is on the left front side of the stage. Brielle was good at smiling and ended up waving her way off the stage afterwards! Her class danced to "Surf Crazy" and did a nice job! She's in the back right in her video. They were also excited to receive fresh flowers and certificates afterwards.

Carter has been enjoying dance too. He does a little knee bounce and turning in circles. The other day we all started dancing in the kitchen and we caught it on video!

He's looking handsome and grown up these days, thanks to a new outfit from Mama Judy.

He's started to say some words: bye-bye, soft, da-da, shoe, diaper, ball, baba (Brielle, balloon, anything that starts with B), and La-la for Lily. He waves, claps, gives high fives and hugs and can show how gentle he can pat someone while he says "soft, soft". Just one month till he can go to nursery at church!
