We are coming to the close of our delicious three week break from school and work. It's been fabulous. We spent the first week in Amarillo with my mom. We shopped, watched movies, opened presents, baked, went to the museum, played with the new TV and GPS, and ate ate ate!
We also went to visit my piano teacher, Ms. Wilson, and played some Christmas carols for her and the other residents at the care center where she lives. They loved it, and one of the older gentlemen, sang O Holy Night for us and it was absolutely beautiful.

You can see Ms. Wilson sitting off to the left in her wheelchair.

The second week we started off with our own ward's Christmas choir program. We played a couple of numbers as well as singing with the choir. It turned out really great and all the scripture readings were done in English as well as one other language that rotated among Spanish, Navajo, French, German, Finnish, Japanese, Portuguese, and sign language. That evening we went to "A Celtic Christmas" performance which was fun with the uillean pipes (pronounced "wailin' "), fiddle, harp, dancing, guitar, and story telling!

Then we headed to Los Alamos to spend Christmas with the Petersons. We had a lot of fun relaxing, playing guitar hero and the force unleashed, watching movies, shoveling snow, looking at lights, playing Christmas carols, opening presents, skiing, and sledding. Oh and eating all that delicious food!

The last week we've been in Albuquerque, getting the Christmas decorations down and rearranging our living room. For New Year's Eve we chaperoned a tri-stake youth dance, including dinner and the DVD presentation "A Brand New Year" which was really nice. After the dance ended, we headed over to a member's home and the youth continued to play games until midnight, then we had breakfast (yum!) before heading home. Good thing we got to sleep in the next day....we hadn't stayed up that late in months....or maybe years!
We've made some goals for the new year and will be working on them. We hope the holiday season has been an enjoyable and relaxing one for you and your families.
