The Middle school music programs took a trip to Baltimore! I chaperoned Lily and her friend Akshadha. First we had dinner at the Cheesecake Factory yum!
Then we went to the Baltimore symphony. They played the soundtrack to Raiders of the Lost Ark as the movie was going! It was a lot of work for the musicians and so cool to watch!
We finally got to see the cherry blossoms in Washington DC! The views were beautiful but it was a lot of hot walking and there were tons of people everywhere. We visited the Jefferson Memorial, MLK Jr memorial, and the FDR memorial. This has been on my wishlist of things to do so I'm glad my kids were (mostly) good sports about hoofing it around DC
Lily "holding" her future home (the White House...closer view below)
Reese had her first birthday and she was celebrated at daycare!
The girls participated in the Piano Extravaganza....16 piano on stage, each with a pair of musicians and they all played together some fun duets. There were ten different skill levels; little kids all the way up to adults! They worked so hard all fall and winter and it paid off!
Temple date!
Nap time
We participated in the community clean up day "Kiss Hershey Back"
We helped gather trash along the side of the road and in the ditch/hill next to the road. Our ward group found seven abandoned tires among the trash you'd expect to find!
The kids had their spring piano recital
Lily went to the sixth grade camping trip and had a good time. Half of the students went Monday-Wednesday and the other half went Wednesday-Friday. The weather was great for the first group, but Lily's group got rained out of many of their outdoor activities :(
She did kiss a fish though per camp tradition
The end of the year brought the Dance Recital. The girls did a wonderful job and I really liked the music choices. However it was almost three hours long and Carter fell asleep
Last day of school for Carter. He had a good third grade year but is ready for a break!
