Christmas eve we got to skype with Elder Peterson in Russia! In our haste to make the call, I had to leave my undercooked pecan pie in the turned off oven. It actually tasted okay, but we ended up having lots of cake, more cake, and cookies to satisfy our sweet tooths, so it didn’t really appear at the holiday table.
It was great to hear from Brian and meet his companion too. At the end they sang “What Child is This?” in Russian, which is one of my very favorite carols, and it was beautiful!
During naptimes we wrapped presents and cooked. The Jefferies and Eric toured Monticello in the brisk windy weather. Afterwards, the kids played, it snowed a little, we ate a delicious dinner at Rebecca’s, and then had a Nativity play. Brielle was Mary but refused to have anything on her head. Kaden was a very good Joseph and Brett submitted to being dressed like a shepherd. Lexi was a cow, I think Lily was asleep. We sang carols and the kids tolerated our prodding and encouragement to act out the story. After the Wise Men brought their gifts, Kaden insisted we sing “The Wise Man and the Foolish Man”. I’m sure the wise men did build their spiritual houses on the rock of Christ ☺
Once we got home, we helped Brielle set out a plate of cookies for Santa and then had the girls open their Christmas jammies that were wrapped under their tree. Brielle was excited to open a present, but did not look having footie pajamas. We distracted her with something so she forgot she was wearing them.
Stockings and cookies waiting for Santa!
The elves were up late finishing the wrapping, putting on bows, filling stockings, and assembling Brielle’s kitchen. We were pretty tired!

Brett has been loving the Wise Man song lately! He was trying to get Sean to do the actions while playing it on the piano the other day=) Brett has also been hating feetsie pajamas lately. I got him to wear some last night, I just don't want to say goodbye to them because they are so cute! Lily looks so pretty under the tree!
