The next couple days we spent in upstate New York, visiting Palmyra and Rochester.
Reconstructed log cabin home of the Smiths
Upstairs room where Joseph was visited by Moroni
View of Palmyra temple from the Smith farm
Smith frame house
Smith cooper shop
Interior of frame house
We walked out to the Sacred Grove too, but didn't take any pictures. It was freezing! Windy! Snowy! I had Brielle in the moby wrap against my chest and we decided it was like that painting of Emma Smith with her children and baby crossing the frozen river in a snow storm as they were driven from Missouri :)
Office of E.B. Grandin where the Book of Mormon was first published
Original first edition of the Book of Mormon (right) next to the Bible
Hill Cumorah monument. yay for Moroni!
The beautiful temple of Palmyra. We'd planned to do temple work, but ended up not being able to.
Stained glass of trees reflects the sacred grove
We also visited the National Museum of Play in Rochester. It was lots of fun, even though Brielle couldn't appreciate too much. There were places for crawlers and first walkers as well as older kids, but she's still too little. Oh well, we enjoyed it!
Can you tell me how to get, how to get to Sesame Street?
On TV with Elmo!
Playing the pipes
Little grocery store that kids can "shop" in, so fun!
Stage complete with curtain, audience seating, camera for filming, and keyboard for the soundtrack!
Some toys featured in the Toy Hall of Fame. First the original Atari video gaming system!
The Hula Hoop!
Legos!
Brandon with life size Link, Pikachu, and Sonic!
A really big Super Soaker
I love this. A Flag made out of buttons!
Brielle's new trick, arching her back and twisting around to get out of her carseat,
your lap, the Bumbo, etc.
We had such a great time! Yay for vacation and fun places to visit!

i went to a lecture by the guy who does the stain glass for temples at education week or some other conference last year. it was really interesting when he talked about the stain glass in that temple in your pictures. i can't remember much about it, but it was a great presentation. he has quite a severe stutter.
You guys take such wonderful photos! I'm so glad you were able to visit church history sites--loved your analogy of Brielle wrapped up and Emma's experience--that picture always helps you feel so cold whatever the temperature around you. And I love the stained glass made by Bro. Holdman--he does such a beautiful job in declaring his testimony in glass. I didn't know Rochester had a Play museum--what fun! No grouches there on Sesame Street, an accomplished hula hooper, too bad there wasn't a Jigglypuff (but Pikachu is so cute!). And loved the time lapse photos showing Brielle's new trick--it looks very effective! love, mom p
PS the picture of the baseball field reminded me of Brazil's flag =-)
Watch out if Neil ever gets his hands on one of the "Fat Boy" Super soakers--none of us will ever be dry!
